Local Bursary Information

NADC Bursary Partnership with Fort Vermilion School Division

Value: $2,000

Bursaries Available: 15

Deadline: June 4, 2021

Fort Vermilion School Division (FVSD) together with the Northern Alberta Development Council (NADC) have 15 bursaries available to encourage local students who have graduated from FVSD schools to return to the region upon post-secondary graduation.  Students may receive a bursary each year to a maximum of four years but must apply each year.  Below is a link to the complete guidelines and application form.

Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation - Striving for Nursing Excellence Bursary

Bursaries are available to people engaged in fields of study within the nursing profession. 

Value: The amount ranges from $500 to $5,000 however both the number and value of bursaries available each year may vary.

Fort Vermilion Agricultural Society Bursary

Value:  Up to $1000 available each year.  May be awarded as one $1000 bursary or two $500 bursaries.  Recipients may also apply for a matching NADC Partnership Bursary.

This bursary is available to someone taking courses relating to library services. The usual amount of the bursary is $1,000; however both the number and value of bursaries available each year may vary.

TOLKO Industries Ltd. Bursaries

These bursaries are open to all students registered in the Fort Vermilion School Division continuing their education at an accredited tertiary intuition such as a university or college.   Preference will be given to the following:

• Students who work for Tolko Industries Ltd. 
• Children of employees who work for Tolko Industries Ltd.
• Students pursuing education in forestry or related studies, trades or technical training, sciences, or business studies
• Students with plans to return to the area on completion of their studies

Value: 2 bursaries of $1,000

NADC Bursary Program

The NADC Bursary is a return service bursary of $6,000 per year for a maximum of two years and is offered to students in their final two years of post-secondary studies.  It is meant to encourage students to train for jobs that are in demand in northern Alberta.  Click on the link below for more information and for the online application.
